Brands in the Fast Lane – Part 1

    By Dominik | b | 0 comment | 5 March, 2018 | 0

“Give me the name of a famous eyewear brand!” Most people would most likely respond with Ray Ban or Oakley. But other successful labels have arrived in the eyewear segment that are constantly bringing new, modern eyewear on to the market. In our two-part blog post we would like to introduce you to brands that are worth a closer look.

    Moschino

Moschino stands for Italian flair and fun in fashion. Label founder Franco Moschino had the idea to take away the seriousness out of fashion and incorporate wit and irony into his designs – bows, animal motifs, glitter or plastic elements, everything is allowed. After the death of the founder, the fashion grew up, but the extravagance remained. The designs of eyewear by Moschino is also extravagant and eye-catching. Thick full rim frames in a variety of colours and shapes are a must. Golden accents on the frames and eyeglass temples set additional highlights, as for example this Moschino sunglasses.

    Givenchy

While founder Hubert de Givenchy used to be known for his fashionable bright colours, today, under the leadership of Riccardo Tisci, the brand stands for light shades, straight lines and simple elegance. The eyewear designs by Givenchy are dominated by unobtrusive classic colours such as black, brown, burgundy and dark green, as well as straight lines. Golden or silver accents on the mostly wider spectacle frames set small contrasts with the more restrained models, such as these Givenchy sunglasses.

    WOOD FELLAS

The Munich label WOOD FELLAS was founded in 2012 by Stefan Muckenhirn and Jan Priepke. The glasses impress with timeless models and innovative designs using natural materials. The materials used, wood, horn and stone, give the spectacle frame from WOOD FELLAS a special refinement and are a modern alternative to the conventional frames made of metal or plastic. While the mostly square or round frames are decorated in natural tones, mirrored glasses can add a colourful accent, like the WOOD FELLAS Trostberg.

    Kate Spade

Fashion label Kate Spade was founded in 1992 by Kate Brosnahan Spade in New York. Initially only known for handbags, the label achieved a lot of attention from the successful series Sex and the City, where the viewers became increasingly aware of Kate Spade handbags. In addition to handbags, clothing and jewelry, eyewear, fragrances, shoes and home accessories are now also part of the product range. Bright colours, graphic prints and elegant and playful shapes characterize the charm of the brand. This is also reflected in the eyewear design. Large lenses, colourful frames, as well as print patterns and applications, such as the flowers on this model, are essential features of the brand.
