Before you order from an online shop, you want to know whether you can trust it. This article comes from Edel-Optics itself, so instead of singing our own praises, we give you points you can check: is Edel-Optics legit, does it sell genuine products, and what’s behind our prices? What other customers say and how an order works is covered in Edel-Optics reviews: what customers say and how ordering works.

Reviews: what other customers say
Other customers’ experiences are a good test. On the review platform Reviews.io, edel-optics.co.uk has 4.8 out of 5 stars from 150 company reviews, and 95% of reviewers would recommend the shop (as of 28 October 2026). How the reviews are collected: the reviews on Reviews.io come from invitations we sent to customers after they ordered. Reviews.io marks them as ‘Verified Buyer’. The figures reflect the views of the people who left a review there, not of all our customers. So read the most recent and the critical reviews too, and look at whether a problem keeps coming up and whether the shop replies. We’ve summarised what customers often praise and criticise in Edel-Optics reviews.
Edel-Optics: genuine or fake?
We only sell genuine products. We buy our glasses and sunglasses directly from the manufacturer or its authorised distributor. Our selection includes brands such as Ray-Ban, Oakley, Gucci, Prada, Tom Ford and Versace – altogether the largest range in Europe available for immediate delivery.
Authorised retailer: what you can check
Some manufacturers publish which retailers they have authorised. Here are two examples you can check yourself (as of 28 October 2026):
- Ray-Ban: Ray-Ban’s store locator lets you search for certified online retailers. Enter edel-optics.co.uk and Ray-Ban confirms the website as a certified retailer.
- DITA: search for ‘Hamburg’ in DITA’s store locator and Edeloptics GmbH is listed as a retailer of DITA Eyewear and DITA Epiluxury.
Many other brands don’t publish a list like this. Either way, you can check any pair of designer glasses yourself using these features:
- Markings on the inside of the arm: on genuine frames, the model number, colour code and size (lens width, bridge width, arm length) are printed sharply and evenly. Compare them with the label on the packaging and with the model on the manufacturer’s website.
- CE and UV400: sunglasses for the EU market carry a CE mark, usually with a filter category. UV400 stands for UV protection up to 400 nanometres. Both matter, but neither proves that a pair is genuine.
- Build quality: clean edges, smooth hinges with no play and a logo that sits straight are signs of a genuine product.
- Lens etching: many brands put a fine logo on one lens; on many Ray-Ban models, it’s a small ‘RB’.
- Serial number: the arms usually don’t carry an individual serial number, just the model number and colour code. If a manufacturer offers an online check, only use its official website.
If you have doubts about a pair you’ve ordered from us, get in touch with our customer service team via our contact form.
Why is Edel-Optics so cheap?
We sell internationally, so we can price differently from a small local optician. Our aim is to make designer glasses accessible to more people.

On top of that, there are reasons that apply to online retail in general: some of the costs of running a bricks-and-mortar shop, such as renting retail space in town centres, don’t apply when selling online, or only apply in part. Our shop also has a sale section with reduced-price models.
Good value, yes – suspiciously cheap, no
Genuine eyewear gets discounted too. But if a current model costs only a fraction of what exactly the same model, with the same model number and colour, costs at other well-known retailers, there’s usually a reason.
