The corona pandemic has also left its mark on our style: the loungewear look in home office, the mask with your favourite pattern and a lockdown-chic accessory on your nose. Excuse me? Yes, you read that right: more and more people are following this season’s latest fashion trend of oversized shield sunglasses and eyeglasses, not only adding a touch of high-fashion to their outfits but also a little extra facial protection. The need for protection has certainly been a precursor to this eyewear trend and it’s now getting hard to imagine the catwalks or street fashion without oversized sunglasses. Whether it’s a wrap around monolens or a thick-rimmed oversized frame with large lenses, these glasses act as an upper face shield and keep everything out of your eyes. Not just the sunrays responsible for eye damage and squinting but perhaps also air-born droplets full of covid viruses.
