FAB FIVE: 5 Eyewear style questions for … Carina from BlondieBrownie.sis

Two best friends who also happen to be sisters – that’s how Carina and Lisa Portenschlager describe themselves on their blog BlondieBrownie.sis. The two stylish girls from Graz, Austria, blog and post about trends, beauty and lifestyle, make our mouths water with the latest goodies and provide regular have-to-have alerts with their sophisticated outfits. We caught up with Carina and asked her about her eyewear must-haves.

Carina, tell us about your very first pair of glasses.

I didn’t get my very first pair of glasses until I was 19 or 20 at university. Before that, I sat in the last row at school, but I could always copy from my bench neighbour and best friend if I couldn’t read something on the blackboard. I was just too vain for glasses.

What should you pay attention to so that your glasses and your personal style match?

I think you should wear what you like and not worry too much about trends and the like – and that doesn’t just apply to glasses!

Which glasses are currently your favourite? And why?

My current and all-time favourite is a big pair of Prada glasses in brown with gold details. They look great on and I think the look is just so cool, a bit nerdy, but still en vogue. This summer, as well as my black, round Chanel sunglasses, which always give that Hollywood moment, I’ll definitely be wearing my new square Confident Sun by Sylvie Optics. The model is not only a real eye-catcher, but also super light and therefore comfortable to wear.

Is there a no-go for you when it comes to glasses?

Not really a no-go, but glasses should suit you and be good quality, because you only have one pair of eyes and we should protect them as best we can.

Who do you think has the coolest sunglasses style of all time?

The coolest sunglasses photo in my opinion is definitely Audrey Hepburn in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” in the window of Tiffany’s New York – I also love the shape of these sunglasses – cool and timeless and elegant at the same time!
