Lifting 10 kilos With One Eye
The Indian Rakesh Kumar managed to lift up a ten-kilogram heavy weight. What’s so special about that you might ask?! Well, the weightlifter and bodybuilder did it with his eye, by attaching iron rings with a hook to his left eye. The preparations took a full seven years – and were successful, as it turned out later!
A 40-Dioptre Special Lens
Specialists of the University Medical Center Mainz succeeded in correcting a corneal curvature of 40 dioptres with a highly personalized artificial lens. The patient, aged 76, suffered from a very advanced cataract, as well as extreme astigmatism. For the patient, an individualized lens was produced that was to take over the function of the lens of the eye. This was to compensate for a cylinder correction of 40 dioptres. The man’s eyesight was about 35 percent of normal vision just one month after surgery. Up till then standard lenses were only possible up to 12 dioptres.
The Largest Glasses Ever
The largest pair of glasses that were ever produced were made in December 2004 by Errold Jessurun in the Netherlands. The glasses are 1.94 meters wide. Each lens has a width of 68 cm and a strength of +1.25! (Source)

The Fish with the Most Eyes
The barreleye (also known as spook fish) has six eyes! In addition to the “main eyes”, the fish has a second, smaller pair, which helps the fish to orient themselves in darker climes.
