Blogger Felix (@Saintfilli) at the launch event of Sylvie Optics
On Thursday, March 22, the time had come: Sylvie Meis was to finally present the models of her new sunglasses collection #SylvieOptics!
In the afternoon, numerous bloggers, Sylvia’s friends and family and the contributors to the collection gathered together in Hamburg for the occasion.
Although Sylvie’s sunglasses are made for women, there were also some men among the party guests.
One of them is Felix who is also a blogger with a passion for fashion, travel, tattoos and music. For the launch of the Sylvie Optics collection, he came from Berlin to take over our Instagram account for the day. If you missed his stories, you can read everything about the event and Felix’ day here:
On Thursday morning everything started for me in beautiful Hamburg, where true to tradition it was raining cats and dogs. I was to take over the Instagram account of Edel-Optics there and lead their followers through the day of the event.
After arriving in Hamburg, I first checked into my hotel, the Westin, located in the Elb Philharmonic Orchestra building. The view was gigantic! The one front of the room seemed to be an endless shining window, through which one has an unbelievable view of the Elbe and the Hamburg harbour and the design of the furniture was tasteful and modern. A further highlight was the bathroom: also equipped with a panoramic window and a huge bathtub from which you can enjoy the view over Hamburg while relaxing in the bath.
But the hotel was not the reason for my trip to Hamburg. The Sylvie Optics event took place in the Hafencity, about two minutes’ walk from the Westin. When I arrived there, I only had eyes for Sylvie. On the walls of the stylish location Nissis Kunstkantine, canvases were hanging everywhere with photo prints of Sylvie wearing the different sunglasses from her collection. WOW! This woman looks really amazing!
And so do her sunglasses! The 5 models are all very different and each reflect a trend in glasses and especially a facet of Sylvie.
The lower part of the location was soon filled with numerous fashion bloggers and Sylvie’s friends and family. Sylvie made a phenomenal appearance after being welcomed by Edel-Optics CEO Dennis Martens.
Then she mingled with the other guests as a matter of course, exchanging at least a few words with each, before the flying buffet was opened. Although the food was excellent, my personal highlight of the evening was the saxophone player who was to support the DJ in some of the songs. He was really in his element and a thoroughbred entertainer, throwing himself into amazing poses and obviously enjoying his role.
The longer the evening lasted, the more cheerful the mood. All the guests took the opportunity to try out the different models in different colours.
(My favourite is the Sensual 1, which even suits me).
There was laughter everywhere, good food and, of course, a lot of selfies taken by the bloggers wearing the newly launched eyewear.
At the end of the evening, every guest went home in an excellent mood, with an Edel-Optics goodie bag and a well-filled stomach. In my opinion, the event was a tremendous success.
After marvelling at the amazing night view from my hotel, I went back to the capital the next morning, reminiscing about the fantastic event.
Thanks to Edel-Optics and Sylvie for such a great day!
