Luxury eyewear – the finest of the finest at Edel-Optics

    By Dominik | b | Comments are Closed | 14 February, 2020 | 0

“Cheap, cheap, cheap!” you might hear sellers scream at Brick Lane Market, trying to sell you the finest produce. However, our luxury eyewear is anything but cheap. In our online shop boutique, we offer high-end eyewear from the most renowned designer brands. Some of the glasses might even reach four figures. The question about whether it is actually worth the price or you only pay for the brand’s name, always arises. Generally, everyone has to decide for themselves, but we can help with the decision. If you want to know whether all that glitter is gold, you should continue reading.

    Treasures without a chest

Nowadays, the Linda Farrow glasses are shining brightly more than ever. But between the 1970s and today’s sparkle was a thick layer of dust. The vintage glasses by Linda Farrow have been discovered more or less accidentally by her son. During a renovation of the old family’s warehouse, he found a vein of gold, figuratively speaking. They found quite a few glasses of which Linda Farrow never thought they’d see the light of the day again. Instead, they are in the spotlight now.

    Not just popular in Japan

When it comes to titanium as a choice of material, DITA eyewear is also a worthy candidate. When the American musician John Mayer discovered DITA eyewear in Japan, he was “very impressed” with their quality, according to his statement. That comes as no surprise considering the energy that goes into the production of these glasses. DITA eyewear is produced in one of the oldest and most reputable factories with over 320 production steps for a period of eight months. Among them are businesses that have been family-owned for generations. Artisans have perfected their skills over the course of 50 years, similarly as the forges for Samurai’s swords of past days. Frames made from titanium without any screws and lenses from acetate are the result of best quality products from the Far East. Therefore, the prices range between 300 and 600 pounds.

    Ornaments for the face

If one brand is known for making jewellery, then it has to be Bvlgari. Everything that the world’s third-largest jewellery producer takes into its hands, turns into gold (or rather precious metals). Ever since the Greek silversmith Sotirios Voulgaris started in Naples in 1880, he mesmerises every face with his Italian designs. For that, precious metals are not even used. The Bvlgari BV8214B is perfectly fine with acetate that offers the best comfort. The bold frame is however based on Bvlgari’s typical Serpenti style with its fine ornaments made from enamel and crystal. The visual expression of rampant seduction is available to ladies with impaired vision for around 330 pounds.

    Over the top

One of the absolute favourite of luxurious eyewear brands is Lunor. The German manufacturer wants to climb to the top of the mountain since its very beginning. The name, which resembles “luna” (moon), originates from Lunettes d’Or – the golden glasses – with which Lunor AG celebrated their debut. Since then, the handmade Lunor glasses and sunglasses gained popularity. The reason is not only the high standard of the brand which beats anything that a customer could ever ask for. An example is the processing of the surface: the polishing process alone takes 1.5 weeks and consist of a rotating bath in special pieces of wood. If that isn’t already enough, they are additionally polished by hand. The Lunor metal glasses are made with four layers of fine metals. More isn’t possible! Same goes for the price that is around 1,700 pounds.
