What’s up on the catwalks? Eyewear trends 2020

With glasses becoming one of the most important accessories in fashion, it increasingly comes to show on the catwalks of fashion weeks. As diverse as fashion itself, eyewear trends are subject to constant change. Eyewear lovers are often spoilt with choices when it comes to finding the most suitable and yet hottest trend. We have looked at the latest models of great designers as well as fashion shows on the catwalks of the world to give you a trend overview for 2020!

Heavy trend – light Metal! 

What has become popular for decades with sunglass-classics such as Ray-Ban Round Metal is also popular with visual glasses now: metal frames!

This year, it’s especially found in silver, gold and rosé gold. It’s not just round or oval ones but also in other shapes. For example, the models from Missoni’s new collection which catches everyone’s attention with their oversized, angular shape.

Also, the well-known aviator glasses are finding their way back to fashion in the form of visual glasses. As a classic model, but also in slightly modified with cut glasses, ornaments and double bars, you can prove your sense of fashion.

Another trend, which is mainly popular among women, are glasses with synthetic frames in a cat-eye shape. The beautiful Sylvie is the perfect example to show how sexy wearing glasses can be.

Contrary to filigree metal frames are glasses with eye-catching, thick synthetic frames THE 2020 trend! The more eye-catching, the better! Especially in darker colours, it frames the face well and shows us how proud and stylish glasses can be worn as an accessory today. Classic, angular shapes from Tom Ford suit men particularly well. Women, on the contrary, can also wear more brightly coloured models with extravagant details to up their fashion game. The perfect example is Gucci eyewear.

A little transparency in synthetic frames allows glasses to frame your face, but still exudes a certain lightness. Especially in dusty pink! It’s one of the must-haves of this season.

Combo is key! 

Thick synthetic frames and filigree metal temples – with this combination you can prove your sense of style and will certainly get some envious looks. This applies to both men and women and can be well combined with trend colours and dominant brand logos. But also plastic hangers and metal frames or frames made of plastic which merges into metal temples– all combinations are desired!
