Frame is very dark, it is slightly tort but not at all like pictured. At first I thought they were black and then just barely saw a little bit of a tort but they are so comfortable that I'm not returning them because I'm going to the ocean within the next two weeks so I'm just going to keep them

Maui Jims have been my sun glasses of choice for many, many years. My favorite pair was \"lost\" at a party so I purchased this pair. The small size is ideal for smaller women but I was a bit surprised by the rubber frame. They're very comfortable and the polarized lenses are great! I would give these a 5 star rating except the case they sent them in was basically a triangular cardboard box that's way too large to carry in my purse.

Beautiful vision quality. I'm used to the Makaha frame, which is my favorite. This frame is very sturdy but also a little too heavy for my preference. I still believe that they deserve a five star rating though because of Maui Jim quality and customer service.

Clarity is superb. Fit for my normal oval head/face is wonderful and on the snug side which I wanted. Hate glasses that move or slide around. Got bronze glass for low light driving and all around use. Colors are beautiful not distorted but a little warm.Got the Marlin frame which looks really cool. The fit of the lenses around the eyes was unexpectedly. They seem curved out and away so my eyelashes and eyes aren’t touching any part of the lense but gives great viewing clarity. Real nice sunglasses for all around use.

Best sunglasses I’ve ever had.
This is my second pair of the Kipahulu style. First pair is the matte tortoise rubber. This pair is the marlin frame, my favorite so far. Love them both for a perfect fit, very comfortable, how they look and resistance to scratches. Also love the polarized lens. Does the best job of filtering sun light. Mine came with a nice hard shell case and cleaning cloth. Highly recommend these sunglasses.

These are superb Maui Jim sunglasses. On a trip to Hawaii I forgot my Maui Jims and needed to pick up a pair. I chose these Kipahulu glasses in the rubberized tortoise finish with the bronze lenses, and I have never regretted buying them. The fit is very nice, neither too big or too small, and the bronze Maui Jim polarized lenses are peerless. Highly recommended. RJB.

I've been a devoted Ray-Ban Wayfarer fan, old school model (2140). Had my last pair for 5 or more years. They inexplicably broke at the bridge.These Maui Jim Kipahulus are better overall. The brown crystal lens feels really sharp and bright, while the polarization cuts out reflected images and glare. The Maui Jim bronze glass lens delivers a brghter tone than it does in plastic on other models.One more thing I like a lot: the matte rubber frame with rubber inlays at the nose keep the glasses firmly in place. Coverage over my eyes is full. They fold into a parabola rather than flat, latter which I prefer, but you can't have everything. The build seems great.We'll see how they hold up to my abuse. First impression is super.

Durable frame, sharp lens
Unlike a previous pair of Maui Jim's which were more like a wire rimmed type and very fragile, the Kipahulu are sturdy with an all around plastic frame. The fit well and the gray lens are dark which is just the way I like them! I recommend them!
Just the right fit for medium smaller heads
Arrived 2 days ahead of time so that was a plus! I would say my head is medium/small and the MJ Stingrays I tried on first were slightly large. These fit the bill perfectly. I run with them on and have no issues with fogging, slipping or bouncing around. The temples are thinner so peripheral vision is not affected either. I was worried the extra weight of the glass lenses would be an issue but I can honestly say they feel great. As for the lenses, they are Maui Jims what can I say! The bronze is really nice for cloudy to full sun without being overly amber colored. The only negative I can think of is that it would be nice to have the black frames with the bronze lense option. Over all I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.
Maui Jim might be the best sunglasses in the world for its price range
Maui Jim might be the best sunglasses in the world for its price range. I recently sacrificed my old pair to the fishing gods (even though they were strapped on my neck), and I had been wearing those for 11 years. These are great, polarized perfectly, and weighted just right. As long as these hold up like my last pair, Maui Jim will have a customer for life.
Style, Comfort, and Better Sight!
I have been a Maui Jim fan for a long time. I lost my last pair and had to get a new set. I really like these. However, they are a little heavier than my last set (these lenses are glass not plastic!) and will take a little getting use to. I commute over 100 miles a day and having a good pair of sunglasses makes the commute so, so much better. Buy these (or any Maui Jim glasses). You will look good, see better, and probably become as addicted to Maui Jim glasses as I have. ENJOY!!!

Very comfortable, sharp looking and no glare.
No better sunglasses available PERIOD! All other brands are just pretenders.
If you wear any other sunglasses, you are making a mistake. These are the clearest lenses, because they are glass not plastic so there is very little or no distortion, and the polarization creates the most vibrant crystal clear range of sight you can imagine. If you try these once, you will hate any other sunglasses you may own. I used to wear Revo sunglasses back in the day, and at $400+ a pop, losing or breaking a pair was ridiculously expensive. These come at half the price or less depending upon the style, and are far better at protecting your eyes and improving your sight. The frame is a matte rubber and very light. Some people complain that these are heavy, but that is because they are glass and not plastic, and the glass is a very thin lens, so it's really not heavy at all. There will be no dents in your nose when you remove these, and speaking of the nose pads, they are very comfortable. The lenses come in grey and bronze. I find the grey amazing for bright sun and glare. I use them when I'm on my boat fishing, and you can see right through the water to the bottom. And talk about brilliant color? You can spot fish and structure by eyeball, sometimes I don't even need my sonar. The bronze are great for haze and driving. Try driving with a pair on during a torrential rain storm, and you will never drive without them again. They cut right through the glare and you can see for several hundred feet better than without them. I go nowhere without a pair. I own both color lenses, as I am in the wild a lot. I left a pair at the bottom of a river in Alaska while white water rafting, there is a pair sitting 2000 feet below the surface of the Atlantic Ocean, and somewhere around Sanibel Island there is a pair at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. I have lost several, and won't buy any other glasses but Maui Jims. Having said that, if you're very active buy a head strap to keep them from similar fates.

Bought to have eye wear that stays on during paddle boarding. I really like the nose and ear pads that keep the glasses from slipping off when I start sweating. At first I thought the tint was too dark and it was hard to stomach the price (I thought the frames looked cheap for $230) but when I got on the water I immediately changed my mind. The water clarity is ridiculously awesome!

These are REALLY nice sunglasses. Maui Jim makes fantastic polarized optics. The clarity of the Kipahulu is amazing, and the best of the MJ's I've owned. Great value and price!I'm perplexed by reviews that say these are heavy, but I guess it's all relative. In my opinion, the weight is perfect in that it's barely noticeable. There's just enough weight to let you know these glasses will stay on securely. I'd feel comfortable wearing for all manner of activities- water sports, fishing, boating, hiking, etc... While I would want to add extra security with some sort of retention cord so I didn't lose them, I wouldn't feel too worried if I didn't have one. The flexible sides add extra comfort.

I have been an Oakley wearer for as long as I have been wearing sunglasses. I thought that they were great until I researched some more. I wanted a certain style and I found Maui Jim. These glasses are amazing. The quality through the lens is much better than my previous Oakley sunglasses. They are a bit heavier than what I am used to, which is because the lenses are actually glass and not a poly-carbonate, but after a day or two, you really don't notice them. The lenses are polarized and do a great job reducing glare. I live in the desert southwest and it is always sunny so a good pair of glasses is a must. The build quality is quite good and they also offer a reasonable warranty. My head is somewhat small so these fit just right. I often find glasses are too large and slip. These have rubber on the nose piece and on the temple which helps with slippage anyway. They came in a nice zipper case and a pouch for storage and cleaning.I can honestly say that I will probably stick with Maui Jim and likely not go back to Oakley.

These are an amazing fit. Have worn Oakley and Costa Del Mar, still a Costa fan but these are top notch. Live in Belize and it's always sunny here, a good pair of sunglasses is much needed.The marlin color is awesome and the feel of these sunglasses on your face is great not uncomfortable at all.

I've been a devoted Ray-Ban Wayfarer fan, old school model (2140). Had my last pair for 5 or more years. They inexplicably broke at the bridge.These Maui Jim Kipahulus are better overall. The brown crystal lens feels really sharp and bright, while the polarization cuts out reflected images and glare. The Maui Jim bronze glass lens delivers a brghter tone than it does in plastic on other models.One more thing I like a lot: the matte rubber frame with rubber inlays at the nose keep the glasses firmly in place. Coverage over my eyes is full. They fold into a parabola rather than flat, latter which I prefer, but you can't have everything. The build seems great.We'll see how they hold up to my abuse. First impression is super.

Durable frame, sharp lens
Unlike a previous pair of Maui Jim's which were more like a wire rimmed type and very fragile, the Kipahulu are sturdy with an all around plastic frame. The fit well and the gray lens are dark which is just the way I like them! I recommend them!
Just the right fit for medium smaller heads
Arrived 2 days ahead of time so that was a plus! I would say my head is medium/small and the MJ Stingrays I tried on first were slightly large. These fit the bill perfectly. I run with them on and have no issues with fogging, slipping or bouncing around. The temples are thinner so peripheral vision is not affected either. I was worried the extra weight of the glass lenses would be an issue but I can honestly say they feel great. As for the lenses, they are Maui Jims what can I say! The bronze is really nice for cloudy to full sun without being overly amber colored. The only negative I can think of is that it would be nice to have the black frames with the bronze lense option. Over all I'm extremely satisfied with this purchase.

Maui Jim might be the best sunglasses in the world for its price range. I recently sacrificed my old pair to the fishing gods (even though they were strapped on my neck), and I had been wearing those for 11 years. These are great, polarized perfectly, and weighted just right. As long as these hold up like my last pair, Maui Jim will have a customer for life.
Style, Comfort, and Better Sight!
I have been a Maui Jim fan for a long time. I lost my last pair and had to get a new set. I really like these. However, they are a little heavier than my last set (these lenses are glass not plastic!) and will take a little getting use to. I commute over 100 miles a day and having a good pair of sunglasses makes the commute so, so much better. Buy these (or any Maui Jim glasses). You will look good, see better, and probably become as addicted to Maui Jim glasses as I have. ENJOY!!!

No better sunglasses available PERIOD! All other brands are just pretenders.
If you wear any other sunglasses, you are making a mistake. These are the clearest lenses, because they are glass not plastic so there is very little or no distortion, and the polarization creates the most vibrant crystal clear range of sight you can imagine. If you try these once, you will hate any other sunglasses you may own. I used to wear Revo sunglasses back in the day, and at $400+ a pop, losing or breaking a pair was ridiculously expensive. These come at half the price or less depending upon the style, and are far better at protecting your eyes and improving your sight. The frame is a matte rubber and very light. Some people complain that these are heavy, but that is because they are glass and not plastic, and the glass is a very thin lens, so it's really not heavy at all. There will be no dents in your nose when you remove these, and speaking of the nose pads, they are very comfortable. The lenses come in grey and bronze. I find the grey amazing for bright sun and glare. I use them when I'm on my boat fishing, and you can see right through the water to the bottom. And talk about brilliant color? You can spot fish and structure by eyeball, sometimes I don't even need my sonar. The bronze are great for haze and driving. Try driving with a pair on during a torrential rain storm, and you will never drive without them again. They cut right through the glare and you can see for several hundred feet better than without them. I go nowhere without a pair. I own both color lenses, as I am in the wild a lot. I left a pair at the bottom of a river in Alaska while white water rafting, there is a pair sitting 2000 feet below the surface of the Atlantic Ocean, and somewhere around Sanibel Island there is a pair at the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico. I have lost several, and won't buy any other glasses but Maui Jims. Having said that, if you're very active buy a head strap to keep them from similar fates.

First pair of Maui Jims
Bought to have eye wear that stays on during paddle boarding. I really like the nose and ear pads that keep the glasses from slipping off when I start sweating. At first I thought the tint was too dark and it was hard to stomach the price (I thought the frames looked cheap for $230) but when I got on the water I immediately changed my mind. The water clarity is ridiculously awesome!

Bought my Maui Jim Kipahulu's a few months ago and have to say they are the best sunglasses I have ever owned. They are comfortable and the optics are fantastic. No glare and work perfectly even in the brightest sunlight. Would recommend to anyone.

These are REALLY nice sunglasses. Maui Jim makes fantastic polarized optics. The clarity of the Kipahulu is amazing, and the best of the MJ's I've owned. Great value and price!I'm perplexed by reviews that say these are heavy, but I guess it's all relative. In my opinion, the weight is perfect in that it's barely noticeable. There's just enough weight to let you know these glasses will stay on securely. I'd feel comfortable wearing for all manner of activities- water sports, fishing, boating, hiking, etc... While I would want to add extra security with some sort of retention cord so I didn't lose them, I wouldn't feel too worried if I didn't have one. The flexible sides add extra comfort.

I have been an Oakley wearer for as long as I have been wearing sunglasses. I thought that they were great until I researched some more. I wanted a certain style and I found Maui Jim. These glasses are amazing. The quality through the lens is much better than my previous Oakley sunglasses. They are a bit heavier than what I am used to, which is because the lenses are actually glass and not a poly-carbonate, but after a day or two, you really don't notice them. The lenses are polarized and do a great job reducing glare. I live in the desert southwest and it is always sunny so a good pair of glasses is a must. The build quality is quite good and they also offer a reasonable warranty. My head is somewhat small so these fit just right. I often find glasses are too large and slip. These have rubber on the nose piece and on the temple which helps with slippage anyway. They came in a nice zipper case and a pouch for storage and cleaning.I can honestly say that I will probably stick with Maui Jim and likely not go back to Oakley.

My first pair of Maui JIms. They have not let me down. The clarity in the lenses is unmatched by even most RAY BANs.
